Groenten Zonder Grenzen
Every Tuesday volunteers from Groente Zonder Grenzen (GZG) go to the marketplace in Rotterdam to pick up fruits and vegetables that hasn't been sold and would otherwise go to waste. On Wednesday a group of volunteer cooks come together to make free, healthy, sustainable meals for people of the community. Undine Günther and I volunteered and collaborated together with GZG to create a video documenting the food waste initiative.
We were drawn to this initiative because of the interest in learning more how to prevent food waste and how to learn new ways of cooking vegan. Promoting this initiative felt important to us, as we both fell in love with the welcoming atmosphere of the initiative, but also because they show that cooking sustainable meals is easily doable.

When filming we focussed on documenting the feeling of community and family that we during volunteering and participating. We didn't want to be distant journalists, but immersed in the atmosphere and to show that in our video. In the editing we chose for moments that reflected this feeling.
